Rules
Server Rules —
By joining this server, you agree to follow these rules. Ignorance of the rules is not an excuse. Staff have final say in all interpretations and punishments. Rules apply to in-game chats, builds, skins, usernames, Discord, and any other server related spaces. If you have any questions at any time about rules, please feel free to ask staff members!
Basic Conduct and Respect.
Treat all players and staff with basic respect. Harassment, bullying, threats (including death threats, DDoS threats, doxing threats), intimidation, stalking, or targeted toxicity is not allowed.
Discrimination or hate speech of any kind (racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, religious hatred, etc.) is strictly prohibited.
Do not troll, bait, or deliberately provoke others in a way that disrupts the community or person. Respect personal boundaries.
Do not impersonate staff, other players, or official server entities.
No begging for items, ranks, or favors excessively.
Communications and Chat.
Keep public chat clean and appropriate. Excessive swearing, sexual content, graphic violence, or highly offensive language is not allowed.
No spamming, flooding, excessive caps, character spam, or repeated messages.
No advertising other Minecraft servers, Discord servers, websites, social media, or products without explicit staff permission.
English is required in public chat for moderation purposes. Limited use of phrases in other languages is permitted.
Do not share personal information of others, it is not your information to share.
Griefing, Property and Building.
No griefing. Do not destroy, alter, or interfere with another player’s builds, claims, or structures without their explicit permission. If it is not yours, do not touch it. Griefing includes:
Breaking and/or placing blocks on/near their base
Flooding, lava-casting, or otherwise damaging terrain around builds
Building walls, traps, or barriers around someone’s claim to trap or annoy them
Stealing from chests, hoppers, item frames, armor stands, etc.
No inappropriate builds. This includes depictions of illegal substances, NSFW content, etc.
Do not claim or build excessively close to another player’s base without permission (5 chunks, or 80 blocks). Players deserve space and breathing room.
Abandoned builds are still protected unless staff or the owner has clearly marked them as free-to-claim/loot. When in doubt, ask staff.
Public roads, spawn areas, community farms, and staff-built structures are off-limits for personal claiming or modification without permission.
Mass terraforming or large-scale landscape changes near other players may be restricted if they negatively impact others.
PvP, Combat & Player Interaction.
No outside modifications in order to gain an unfair advantage in combat are allowed. This ranges from simple modifications like autoclickers to advanced mods such as KillAura and everything in between.
PvP is allowed on Lunar, but only under designated circumstances (eg. Envoy, consensual PvP etc.)
Trapping players in inescapable situations, spawn-killing, or using mechanics specifically to grief rather than engage in fair PvP is not allowed.
Do not kill or trap AFK players for the purpose of theft or harassment.
Consent is required for activities that significantly affect another player’s experience outside of normal gameplay.
Cheating, Hacks, Exploits & Unfair Advantages.
No cheating of any kind. This includes but is not limited to:
Hacked clients, KillAura, Baritone, Reach, Velocity, Fly, Speed, No-Fall, Jesus, Scaffold, etc.
X-ray (texture packs, mods, or resource packs that reveal ores/caves)
ESP, tracers used for unfair advantage, radar, etc.
Auto-clickers, macros, scripts, and bugs or exploits that automate gameplay beyond normal human capability.
Duping items, entities, or experiences through any method.
Exploiting bugs, glitches, or unintended game mechanics for advantage (report them instead).
Exploitative client side mods such as Freecam, use of Litematica’s “Print” functionality, Easy Place, etc.
Botting, AFK farming in ways that heavily impact the server, or using alternate accounts to farm resources is not allowed.
Allowed clients/mods are typically limited to performance and quality-of-life ones (OptiFine, Sodium, Iris). Anything that gives a clear competitive or resource-gathering advantage is banned. When in doubt, ask staff.
Accounts and Alts
Alternate accounts are allowed on LunarSMP.
Using alts to bypass restrictions, gain extra claims/resources, or harass others will result in all related accounts being punished.
Attempting to bypass punishments via alt accounts will result in more severe punishments than originally imposed.
Account sharing is strongly discouraged and may result in loss of items/progress if issues arise.
You are responsible for activity on your account. No matter what the situation, punishments will be handed down to the offending account, regardless of the circumstances.
Inappropriate Content
No NSFW, sexual, pornographic, or excessively graphic content in builds, signs, item names, books, skins, banners, maps, or chat.
No depictions of illegal or illicit substances, such as references to drug use, alcoholism, etc.
No real-world illegal content, terrorism glorification, or extreme violence that crosses into prohibited territory.
No depictions of hate symbols of any kind.
Keep the server suitable for a general audience (PG13).
Economy, Trading & Scamming
No scamming, false advertising of trades, or deliberately deceptive deals.
Real-money trading (RMT) of in-game items, currency, accounts, or ranks outside of official server stores is not allowed.
No buying and/or selling of illegal or impossible items, such as bedrock, end portal frames, etc.
Any instance of attempting to buy and/or sell illegal items must be reported to staff.
Do not exploit shops, auction houses, or economy plugins.
Lag, Farms & Server Performance
Do not build lag machines, excessive redstone clocks, massive entity farms, or anything intentionally designed to harm server performance.
Large automated farms are generally allowed if they are optimized and do not cause noticeable lag for others.
Avoid massive water/lava flows, excessive hoppers, or entity cramming that tanks TPS.
Villager trading halls are allowed, so long as they do not create an excessive concentration of villagers and produce lag.
Staff may ask you to modify or remove builds that create excessive lag.
Staff, Reporting & Appeals
Listen to staff instructions. Arguing excessively in public chat or refusing to comply can result in punishment.
Do not mini-mod (act like staff when you are not). Report issues instead of taking matters into your own hands.
Ban evasion is a serious offense and usually results in longer or permanent IP-related punishments.
Appeals should go through the proper channel (Discord tickets, etc).
Do not spam staff for any reason. Periodic reminders are helpful, spam will lead to your issue not getting attention.
Towns & Communities
These rules apply to any player-created Town, Claim, Nation or similar group where members live and build together:
You may not remove trust, revoke a subclaim or kick a member from the town without a legitimate reason (theft, griefing, inactivity, toxicity, not getting along with the town residents, etc.). Removing someone purely on a whim is not allowed. Proof may/will be asked for by staff.
When making towns, players’ homes need to be under either a subdivision, or the player’s personal claim. The town leader cannot simply “own” every home under one conglomerate claim.
If you remove a player from your town, you must return all of their personal items, chests, belongings, etc. Failure to do so is considered theft and will be punished.
You may neither lock players out of their own stuff; NOR take, hide, or destroy their things after removing them from the town.
Owners are responsible for the behavior of their members while in town-related activities (e.g builds etc). Owners must adhere to server rules inside their town. Towns may create their own internal rules, but those rules cannot override or contradict the main server rules. Failure to comply with the server rules can result in punishment and/or loss of the town/towns.
Miscellaneous
Do not abuse glitches, plugin features, or world mechanics in unintended ways.
Keep usernames, skins, and builds appropriate.
Staff reserves the right to remove any build, item, or content that violates the spirit of the rules even if it doesn’t perfectly match a specific rule.
Do not engage in gameplay that is obstructive or harmful in shared public spaces (eg. End Island, etc.)
These rules may be updated. Major changes will be announced.
